Tomatoes are raised in greenhouses located in Decatur, Alabama, about 100 miles from the Pepper Place Saturday Market.

People

Dion and Beverly Carroll, along with a few employees.

Certification

Dion is a certified landscape designer who grows tomatoes and landscaping plants in his greenhouses.

Farm history

Dion began working on a farm in the early 1970s. He loved the farm life and particularly planting season. Dion and his wife love to watch the miracle of life - from seed to harvest!

pest Management

A very special blend of tomato fertilizer applied to tomatoes about 8 times per day.

Water Use

Water brought in from the Tennessee River.

Weed Control

Pulling weeds by hand.
